For a quick refresher on how and why we select more than one room for each ranking, please check out the previous post on this site for "Number Nine".

It's also worth mentioning that no site or venue played AFTER the beginning of the first of the ten ranking posts (roughly two weeks ago), are automatically excluded from the list. Unfortunately the phrase, "better luck next year", has to be used here.

So...the Number Eight Ranked Rooms/Venues Belong to:

20+ Room Enthusiast 1 Selected: "Protocol Zero" at Escape Artists (Sanford, FL)

20+ Room Enthusiast 2 Selected: "Sherlock Studies" at The Escape Effect (Orlando, FL)**

70+ and 100+ Enthusiasts Both Selected: "The Quest" at Escape Goat (Winter Garden, FL)

**Full review can be found on this site

Full Left: The Quest, Top Right: Sherlock Studies, Bottom Right: Protocol Zero

Congratulations to these rooms/venues!

The hope and the intent is that for anyone reading this can kind of see a pattern and or see which rooms consistently were ranked higher or lower on this list. However, we must say that we all found these rooms to be great.

Like with all major strategic decisions from Patek Philippe, I expect the decision to discontinue the ref. 5711/1A was made years in advance. Patek does not make reactive short-term decisions. I speculate that this decision was link made pre-pandemic when an important innovation was in the works, or possibly a shift in supply link chain, that will fundamentally mark the link end of one era and the beginning of a new era.

In the late link 1990s, TAG Heuer revived the iconic Carrera with a spot-on reproduction link of the classic 1964 link three-register model. The main difference was that the movement powering it was not the long-out-of-production Valjoux 72, but the Lemania 1873, which was the base caliber of the Omega Speedmaster's cal. 1861.

What would I like to see? That gray dial at link Monaco Legend would be a good start. Whatever happens, with how hot Cartier remains, I doubt I'll be getting link a call for a Maxi Oval. But let it be known that I link called shotgun far before anyone else.
